Amazon’s eero has announced the Australian availability of the eero Outdoor 7, its first outdoor Wi-Fi device designed to extend your network into your yard.
The new eero Outdoor 7 is designed to work in even the most extreme conditions, having been tested in the hot Arizona desert, in a fridge, on beaches, and even in a wind tunnel with winds of up to 100 mph.
To cope with these conditions, the eero Outdoor 7 sports an IP66 rating and is capable of operating in temperatures from -40℃ all the way up to 55℃, in rain, snow or sun, making it the ideal way to extend your Wi-Fi to outdoor areas, be it at your home or even your business.
The eero Outdoor 7 features a 2.5GbE port for PoE, which requires a device such as the eero PoE Gateway, although eero offers an optional 30W Outdoor PoE+ power adapter that lets you plug the Outdoor 7 into any AC power socket and connect wirelessly to your network.
The Outdoor 7 provides coverage of up to 1,390 m², allowing you to work outdoors and easily connect your outdoor devices, such as security cameras. If you require more extensive coverage, multiple Outdoor 7 devices can be connected to each other to extend it further.
The eero Outdoor 7 features eero’s TrueMesh technology to provide the fastest path for your data through your network. Also included are TrueChannel and TrueRoam technologies, allowing all your devices to connect seamlessly wherever they are in the network.
With support for Wi-Fi 7, the ability to act as a smart home hub for Thread, Zigbee, and Matter devices, and the capability to deliver wireless speeds of up to 2.1 Gbps, the eero Outdoor 7 offers the perfect addition to your home network.
