After launching in Australia last year with the flagship foldable Magic V5 and more traditional 400 Pro, smartphone maker Honor are back with a new wave of devices, with the X9d 5G, Magic 8 Pro and X6d 5G all available to pre-order from today.
X9d
Priced at $699, the X9d 5G is a rugged phone, promising exceptional drop, water and dust protection. Anyone who’s dropped a few phones, or needs added protection can probably appreciate the industry-first SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification which covers drops up to 2.5 metres, as well as an IP69K dust and water resistance rating which also includes high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
The phone includes a 6.79” AMOLED display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor with 12GB RAM and comes with 256GB of on-board storage.
The camera system includes a 108MP with the 108MP main camera with both Optical and Electrical Image Stabilisation (OIS/EIS), with a 5MP Wide camera as backup. There’s AI editing tools baked into the phone allowing on-device processing for AI Eraser, AI Cutout and AI Outpainting tools.
It has all-day battery life, with an 8,300mAh Silicon-Carbon battery giving you up to three days of use on a single charge, and 66W fast charging support to top it off when you need it.
The phone will come in a choice of three colours, Midnight Black, Sunrise Gold or Reddish Brown, with a distinctive ring on the rear housing the rear camera system.



It’s available to pre-order from today through JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys ahead of the official launch on April 23rd.

Magic 8 Pro
The Magic 8 Pro is one of the most powerful phones that Honor produces, with a focus on photography thanks to the large 200MP camera sensor on the rear.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the phone comes with 12GB of RAM and a massive 512GB of on-board storage. It includes a spacious 6.71” OLED display with 120Hz refresh.
The phone includes a 6,270mAh Silicon Carbon battery, which can last for days – not hours. It also supports fast charging, with 100W wired, and 80W Honor SuperCharge wireless charging.
The camera system is the highlight though, with a 200MP Ultra Night camera using a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, wide f/2.6 aperturewhich includes a 3.7x Optical zoom, with a 50MP Ultra Night main camera backing it up offering ‘CIPA 6.5’ stabilisation and Optical Image Stabilisation for next-gen night shots. If you want to go ultrawide though, there’s a 50MP sensor with 122° field of view to help you out.
The camera system also includes AI editing tools including AI Photos Agent with AI Eraser, AI Style, AI Outpainting, AI Enhancer and AI Cutout accessible via AI Screen Suggestions – and a Magic Colour filter system letting you tune the colour on your pictures to suit your style.
The phone is available in three colour choices: Black, Sky Cyan and Sunrise Gold.

X6d
The X6d offers a lot for its $299 price tag, including a long-lasting 5260mAh battery with a 6.75” HD display and 50MP AI powered camera.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor and includes 4GB of RAM with 128GB of on-board storage with the option to use the system RAM Boost for smoother operation.
The phone is available in two colours: Ocean Cyan and Midnight Black and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure unlock.
