As Computex kicks off over in Taipei, ASUS have unveiled the TUF Gaming 16 powered by Intel, with NVIDIA RTX graphics to deliver a quieter gaming experience.
The laptop will be available with up to an Intel Core i7 14650HX CPU and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, with a new ultra-quiet and efficient cooling system which uses dual optimised fans to deliver a quiet gaming experience that tops out at 40dB in Turbo Mode – the sound of your modern day refrigerator.
The Intel and NVIDIA silicon is backed up by dual SSD and RAM slots which can take up to 2TB of Gen 4 PCIE SSD storage, and up to 64GB of RAM for future upgradability.
The showpiece though is the 16″ IPS-level display that has a sharp 2.5K (2560×1600) resolution in a taller 16:10 aspect ratio that supports up to 165Hz refresh at 3ms response.
Housing it all, the unit has tasteful styling, with an all-black finish with an anti-fingerprint coating for the lower deck to keep the unit clean – but it’s durable having passed the MIL-STD-810H durability standards.
ASUS have engineered the TUF Gaming 16 to have rear facing ports to reduce cable clutter, with the triple USB Type A ports, USB-C – which supports Display Port out, as well as full sized HDMI port and RJ45 network connection on the rear of the laptop.
There’s no pricing available for the ASUS TUF Gaming 16, nor a release date but stay tuned for more.
