Meta have announced they will be dropping the Oakley and Ray-Ban branding on their smart glasses, moving forward with their parent company, EssilorLuxottica to simply produce Meta smartglasses.

The removal of branding will pave the way for cheaper models, with the new Meta Smartglasses already on-sale through the Meta Australia website.

The new range start at just $469, with two models available – Adventurer and Fury – as well as a special edition StarFire Kylie edition for $629 which has been produced in partnership with Kylie Jenner.

  • Meta Adventurer — A clean rectangle shape for a timeless, versatile look. Available in Standard and Large.
  • Meta Fury — A bold frame that makes a bold statement.
  • Meta Glasses by Kylie — A unique slim oval frame inspired by Kylie’s personal style.

The glasses will be available in a range of colours, as well as offering different lens options including Transitions, polarized, and clear lens options developed by EssilorLuxottica. The Meta Glasses are also compatible with prescription lenses, using Meta’s new Rx Lens Swap and your preferred optician to install your lenses even after the point of purchase so you don’t void the warranty.

The new Meta Smart Glasses will be powered by the new Meta Spark AI engine, and offer all the features you’ve come to know and love.

They will also include a dedicated action button to let you call the Meta AI agent without saying ‘Hey Meta’, and deliver crystal clear audio using open-ear speakers in the arms.

The glasses do include advanced wind noise reduction on the multi-mic array so your voice will sound sharp and clear on voice calls – and when dictating to Meta AI.

They will still include a camera so you can take photos and videos hands-free – one of the biggest attractions of the smart glasses.

Meta also says they will last up to 8 hours, so you can go all day without needing to recharge – a great idea if they have your prescription lenses inside.

If you’ve been holding off on the glasses due to privacy concerns, Meta says the glasses are built with Privacy first. They offer easy settings to help you control what you share, as well as respecting the privacy of people around you.

You can head over to the Meta Smart Glasses website to check out the new range – and if you’re keen, place an order. They’re available from today.
