Tineco, the global leader in household wet and dry cleaners has begun branching out into vacuum cleaners of late, and the 5-in-1 Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch promises to be one of the best all-round floor cleaners you’ve seen.
The Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch is priced at $1,199 through Amazon Australia and utilises Tineco’s SwitchPro motor to power both dry and wet vac units.
Featuring DualBlock Anti-Tangle design and ZeroTangle Brush design, the cleaner can keep your floors clear of both hair and pet fur, all without tangling around the head.
The cleaner can bring up to 22kPa of Suction Power to bear on your floors, and includes an upgraded FlashDry self-cleaning system heated to 85°C to clean the channel from brush head to waste water, with an 85°C hot air cycle drying every part of the machine.
The 180° Lay-Flat Design will let you access everywhere in your home, with a mere 5.1” clearance required to get under furniture.
I’ve spent the last week cleaning with the Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch and here’s how it went.
Hardware
The Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch box includes all the pieces you’ll need, including some spares to keep you cleaning well into the future.

Initial setup is quite easy, with Tineco’s SwitchPro motor the centrepiece for the cleaner, which powers both the wet/dry mop and a stick vac unit, switching easily between the two.
The SwitchPro motor charges while on the wet/dry mop unit, which sits on the included base station that also doubles as a cleaning station.
The actual setup is fairly simple, with an included instruction manual – as well as a quick start guide on the box flaps.

The base unit comes in two parts, one for the roller mop, with a Drying and Charging dock for the Mop, as well as a Vacuum storage dock which also stores all your attachments for the stick vac when not in use.
The Vacuum dock clips into a moulded plastic ridge for stability – and it’s as easy as placing them on the pegs.

The setup does require a larger footprint than most Tineco (or other branded) cleaners but it also gives you a stick vac as well, so there’s that.
App
Of course ‘there’s an app for that’, with the Tineco app available for Android and iOS – but for the most part you’ll never really need to connect it unless you need a firmware update as all the functions work from the hand controls.
Setting up the app is a ‘follow the bouncing ball’ type arrangement easily connecting to your Wifi once you enter your password, then select language.

You’ll get an option to name your cleaner – Optimus, our transforming cleaner is now on duty – and once connected you can download firmware updates, change language or change voice volume (the default is quite loud), tell it if you’re just using water or cleaning solution and more.

The app will only connect when the SwitchPro motor is mounted in the mop unit, simply throwing up an unable to connect option for the vacuum.

You can fine-tune the mop cleaning modes in the app though. There’s options to fine-tune suction and even spray volume on Auto, Max and Suction modes – or mix your own in DIY mode.

Cleaning
We’ve been using a Tineco for a while now on our hard floors, with an aging Dyson stick vac bravely holding on. The new Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch improves on both.
The main concern I had was switching the SwitchPro motor between units – let me tell you, it’s simple.
There’s a spring-mounted catch to release on both units, letting you easily pop it off. From there it clicks into either unit with a satisfying click.

Both units have different controls, the vacuum controls are simple, a trigger can be held which locks it on after a while, so no need to strain your finger and re-pressing the trigger stops the vacuum.
The Washer controls are fairly straight forward. A power button starts it off, letting you unlock the head and start cleaning. It starts in Auto mode, but you can cycle through the Suction, Max or custom mode if you need using the cycle button above the power button

There’s a cleaning button on top which lets you initiate the cleaning mode when docked. The unit has a voice mode – which can alert you when the clean water is empty or dirty water tank is full – and while you can change the volume in the app – you can also mute it using the button on top.
The Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch has no issues with cleaning anything. Spilt milk, Coffee. Pet mess(!), crumbs, mud, you name it. This thing cleans it. The Max mode can deliver when you need it, but the Auto cleaning mode is absolutely enough for almost anything you want to clean.

Both devices offer lay-flat design with 13cm clearance, letting me easily clean under couches and cabinets. I also very much appreciate the bright LED light bar on the front, letting you easily see under furniture.

The roller on the mop has dual-side edge cleaning, which means you can get just 0.5cm from the edge on both sides of the roller head – much easier when trying to clean in a galley style kitchen or hallway.
The Vacuum has excellent attachments including the crevice tool which includes a slide-up dusting brush for blinds and more, and the Mini Power Brush which is brilliant for cleaning up fur or debris on your furniture from a pet (or teenager!).

The main Brush Roller head on the vacuum makes short work of all the carpeted areas and the rugs, with the advantage of a tangle-free head. Just like the mop the head can get quite close to the edge as well.

Once you’re done, you’ll run through cleaning cycles on both washer and vacuum.
Self-cleaning
During cleaning, I usually take the time to fill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank.
The Cleanwater tank can take up to a litre – as well as a cap full of cleaning solution. The dirty water tank has a 0.72L capacity, which includes a Max Fill indicator, but the water used never equals the water in the dirty water tank.

Vacuum
The vacuum unit needs a little more attention than the washer, but not a lot.
The dust/waste container can be easily brought to a bin where you simply release the catch on the base and the debris falls out. Of course you can go a little further and wipe it out.

The inner mesh filter can also be removed, simply twist and pull it out and you can wash it easily.
All the attachments, including the extension tube, clip on with a quick release mechanism that’s very easy to use – and connects with a satisfying click.

Both the roller head attachments can similarly be dismantled for cleaning. The sides of both the Brush Roller and Mini Power Brush come off to allow you to remove and clean the roller.

Washer
Cleaning the Washer unit is easy. The Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch uses fresh water heated to 85°C to effectively dissolve stains internally, all the way from the dirty water tank intake pipe through to the brush roller.
One of my favourite features is the 85°C Flash Dry. This awesome feature means you don’t have to worry about any smells from damp rollers when you put it away after cleaning.
The DualBlock anti-tangle design uses a comb scraper to capture hair, while a straight scraper runs along, wiping away dirty water and hair. It’s an effective dual-layer system which prevents hair tangles and keeps you cleaning.
You can of course easily replace the roller – as well as HEPA Filter and more. Popping off the clean water tank exposes the roller which then easily slides on and off, and the HEPA filters in vacuum and mop are easily accessible and replaceable.

SwitchPro Motor – Battery and Charging
The 3900mAh Li-Ion battery in the SwitchPro motor is charged while docked in the mop. The Switch Pro motor has an LED display, which has a different display depending on if it’s attached to the vacuum or washer. While charging it has a simple battery indicator and WiFi connection icon, which disappears leaving a simple charge indicator on the vaccuum, while the washer has the mode as wel as the battery. It’s easy to read and bright even in the full morning sun.

Tineco lists run-time as 50 minutes on the Floor Washer, and 70 minutes on the Vacuum – and I was able to clean the whole house without recharging, which included swapping between washer and vacuum.
A full charge of the 3,900mAh battery can take up to five hours, though I rarely was able to completely deplete the battery on a whole house clean.
In terms of charging and longevity, the battery uses upgraded pouch cells in the SwitchPro motor. These pouch cells offer more density and fit better with flexible casing, helping the design, while also having up to triple the battery lifespan of other batteries.
Final Thoughts
There’s a lot of hard floors around homes these days, but the carpets need some love and the Tineco FLOOR ONE Switch S7 Stretch with its 5-in-1 cleaning options makes short work of the whole house.
The 22Kpa of cleaning power in the washer is plenty to clean even the most stubborn stains and the vacuum lets you clean up a dry mess quickly on hard floors, rugs and carpets.
I love the idea of switching the one motor and power source which has both enough grunt and power to get through the whole house. With the 180° Lay-Flat Design and dual-sided edge cleaning, letting you reach everywhere you need to ensure a fresh, clean floor.
