Geely is doing pretty well in Australia with just last month over 3,500 new car deliveries, more than 2,300 of them their best-selling EV the Geely EX5. But hold onto your hats folks, this “new” entrant to Australia is about to drop its small car the EX2 and the pricing is sharp.
At $26,490 the EX2 is a bit more than the BYD Atto 1, and about on par with the MG4 Urban making those three the cheapest electric cars in Australia.
The EX2 is a bit bigger than the Atto 1, and has a more rounded style to it. I saw it and gave it a quick drive in China recently, a really well sorted car – one that sold over 400,000 units last year in China, so it’s not a car they haven’t got some engineering history in already too!
If you order and take delivery before 31 August you’ll also get a competitive finance option, premium paint upgrade and a free 7kW home charger too.
Geely’s EX2 will come in two variants, the “Complete” and “Inspire” – both featuring an LFP battery with liquid cooling.
It’s a rear-wheel-drive too, so great balance and performance along with multi-link rear suspension.
Under the hood is a solid frunk too – a rarity strangely in Electric Cars, but 70L of space is a real winner.
The 14.6 inch central touch infotainment system has sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus there’s a solid 8.8 inch digital instrument cluster too.
A service called “Geely Connected Services” will launch in August and two years access will be included with a likely subscription thereafter. This will enable remote access via the Geely app among other things.
Range on the Geely EX2 will be 252km and 345km respectively on the Complete and Inspire variants.
