Shokz Expands Australian Open-Ear Audio Lineup with OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air

Premium audio company Shokz have today announced they’re expanding their open-ear clip-on range with the launch of the OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air.

The new earbuds are a part of their clip-on range, aimed at people who want the benefits of open-ear listening, but find the bone-conduction or ear-hook designs not to their liking.

The launch will also see the buds supporting jewellery-inspired clip-on accessories. These charms can latch onto the earbuds, giving you some personalisation options to complement your style. Unfortunately they’re limited, and will not be sold separately – but they’re neat while they last.

OpenDots 2

The OpenDots 2 introduces a new flagship to the Shokz range, taking over from the original OpenDots One offering premium audio performance and comfortable all-day versatility for taking calls, exercising or chilling with some audio – and with multi-point audio, you can connect them to your PC as well.

They offer great audio quality, using a dual-driver acoustic structure to offer richer bass using their Bassphere 2.0 tech, as well as clearer sound with Dolby Audio offering greater depth and spatial detail to your audio.

The buds come in three colourways, Pearl White, Grey or  Black and can also be used interchangeably in either left or right ear, with the buds intelligent enough to detect the change.

You’ll also appreciate improved call quality, with a bone-conduction microphone and dual air conduction mics using adaptive beamforming and AI noise reduction to transmit your voice more clearly.

At just 6.4 grams per bud, the OpenDots 2 have a compact, lightweight design. Using Shokz flexible nickel-titanium JointArc tech which moulds naturally to different ear shapes, they sit securely without applying pressure on the ear.

The buds also include a new force sensor for simple pinch and hold gestures allowing easier control of your audio.

They also include an IP57 rating for each bud so you can sweat it out on a workout, or run in the rain without a worry – while the case has an IP54 rating to keep them safe as well.

The buds include up to 10 hours of listening time, with 40 hours of additional charge in the case (which can be wirelessly charged), with a 5-minute charge giving you up to 2 hours of playback.

OpenDots Air

Shokz are also launching the sleek, lightweight OpenDots Air. These earbuds retain the core smart features of Shokz OpenDot range, yet offer a minimalist design that will blend seamlessly into your daily life.

The buds weigh in at just 6.3g per bud, and also include the rich low tones provided by Shokz Bassphere acoustic technology, giving you a full, balanced sound across the audio spectrum.

The buds include up to 36 hours of total battery life when using the included charging case, which comes in Daybreak Purple or Black colourways.

Availability

Both the OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air go on-sale in Australia from July 23 through Shokz.com.au. The OpenDots 2 will be priced at 9 AUD, while the OpenDots Air will be priced at 9.

If you want to buy through other channels, the OpenDots2 will be exclusively through the Shokz Amazon Store and JB Hi-Fi, while the OpenDots Air will be available exclusively at Harvey Norman until 23rd of August.

From 23rd of August, both OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air will be available through JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and other participating Australian retailers.
