Aussie company RØDE has today revealed a new generation pro desktop studio arm made for holding those podcast microphones on desk setups where a full articulating arm isn’t possible.
The new DS3 has a capacity of 1.5kg, meaning it won’t just support microphones. You could also use it for cameras – whatever you need.
But for it’s primary purpose as a microphone stand is boosted by it’s ability to be manipulated almost silently meaning you can make those fine updates to positioning without interrupting recordings.

A heavy base means it won’t tip over – perfect for temporary studio setups or more casual setups wanting to look a little less like a podcast studio.
It’s $180, and available only in Black but soon, a White version will come.
