TP-Link have announced their latest TAPO brand smarthome innovations will be arriving in Australia, with the launch of the Tapo D260 Doorbell Pro and the DL130 Smart Door Lock.
The TAPO D260 Doorbell Pro is available now, while the TAPO DL 130 Smart Door Lock will be arriving in November, bringing a more secure biometric unlock using your palm print.
Neville Wang, Managing Director, TP-Link Australia and New Zealand said
“A lot of what happens at the front door is everyday stuff, like your kids getting home before you and realising their keys are still on the kitchen bench. You want to see who’s there and let them in, without your face or fingerprints ending up in the cloud. That’s why we built both the doorbell and the lock to keep that data on the device itself.“
D260 – Doorbell Pro
Priced at $399, the Tapo D260 brings 4K recording with a 180° diagonal field of view letting you see everything happening at your front door including people, packages, vehicles and animals.
Alerts are sent to your phone, with no subscription required, and you also get voice masking to answer the door to people you don’t know.

The doorbell includes dual motion sensors, as well as radar powering the detection, letting you get real alerts instead of alarms for branches waving, or shadows moving. On-device facial recognition will also help with alerting, building a library of familiar faces that stays on the doorbell to maintain privacy.
There’s up to 180 days of battery life from the on-board battery, or you can just wire it into your existing setup and never worry about charging it again.
DL130 Smart Lock
Arriving in mid-November, the DL130 will be priced at $499 and offers improved biometric security with palm and fingerprint access.
The DL130 introduces vein pattern recognition for the palm of the hand, recognising it in as little as 0.33 seconds and even working when wet, dirty or sweaty – perfect for unlocking the door after a run. Biometric data is kept on-device for privacy, so your details are never sent anywhere online.
The Smart Lock offers more ways to get in than just palm or fingerprint access, with permanent, one-time and scheduled passcodes available to share with Friends, Family, Tradies or anyone you need to have access. There’s also a logging system so you can keep track of who has come and gone, and when.

The unit includes an Auto-Lock, as well as alarms for door-left-open, and also includes a built-in doorbell – though an update to the D260 with 4K video wouldn’t be a bad idea.
The system comes with a Grade 2 certification from the BHMA (Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association) – passing tests including between 400,000 to 500,000 cycles of the lock, and force resistance. The Smart lock is also IP65 weather-rated so it can handle the Australian weather.
The unit is powered by a rechargeable main battery with built-in battery backup. You can also connect a powerbank or phone with reverse charging to power the unit in an emergency via USB-C.
You can find the TAPO D260 4K Doorbell Pro on-sale now on the Tapo website, the DL130 Smart Lock will arrive in mid-November.
