Users of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 have been enjoying the fruits of the new Google and Samsung Wear OS partnership since its release last year. One thing that has been absent though is the ability to use Google Assistant on the watch but wait no more, you can now download and use Google Assistant on your Galaxy Watch4.

The new Google Assistant for Wear OS is rolling out to 10 different countries, of which Australia is one — thank goodness — with support for our own version of the English language. To make use of Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch4 you will need to first download it from the Google Play Store.

To install it on your watch complete the following steps:

  • Go to Google play on your watch
  • Update or install Assistant. Launch it and it will go through a set up
  • On your watch under Settings and Default Apps, select Assistant
  • Under Settings, Advanced, and button mappings, change the Bixby shortcut to Assistant

At this stage it is not appearing for everyone so the release may be being staggered out so if it’s not there for you just yet keep refreshing your search until it rolls out to your watch.
