Samsung announced the Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor at IFA 2022 and today revealed Australian availability will begin next month for RRP $1,999. The Odyssey OLED G8 is available for pre-order between 16 February and 5 March 2023 with those pre-ordering receiving a bonus gift of a Samsung SSD 990 PRO 2TB worth $389 RRP (while stock lasts).
The Odyssey OLED G8 is Samsung’s first foray into OLED gaming monitors and promises to deliver brilliant colour, brighter whites and the deep blacks we all expect from an OLED monitor. The monitor requires no backlighting and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black Certified providing a vivid display at a massive contrast ratio.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a 34-inch curved (1800R curvature) QHD 21:9 display with a 0.03ms response time and 175Hz refresh rate. Combine that with the support for AMD FreeSync Premium the monitor aims to provide a smooth fluid gaming experience. Add in microHDMI 2.1, MiniDP 1.4 and USB-C ports for improved connectivity and you have a great gaming monitor.
This year Samsung has also included their Smart Hub on the monitor allowing for a complete entertainment hub to allow you to stream all your favourite provides easily on your monitor. Samsung TV Plus, as a part of the Smart Hub also provides for free streaming content.
The Odyssey OLED G8 will be available in Australia in March 2023 with an RRP of $1,999 with pre-orders open now at the Odyssey OLED G8 website. The gaming monitor will be available via select gaming resellers, and the Samsung Online Store.
