EFTM’s Chris Bowen attended a glittering premiere of the new James Bond “Spectre” movie during the week. Centre stage was the limited edition Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition, a vehicle sure to tantalise those fascinated with one of the most successful franchises of all time.

$435,007 before on roads will secure you one of 150 examples worldwide, but even if the bank balance extends to such extravagances your chances are still slim with just five arriving on our shores.

So what do you get over and above the stock standard and recently launched DB9 GT? For the wannabe spy within you can expect Spectre Silver paint, sterling silver Aston Martin badges and 007 Bond Edition exterior badging.

Inside the cabin the 007 makeover continues with unique numbered sill plates, gun barrel embroidery plus a front and centre special Bond Edition start-up screen sequence. Of course to escape the hordes of assassins you’ll need the 6.0-litre V12 engine, capable of generating 402kW at 6750 rpm and 620 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm, good for 100km\h in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 295 km/h.

If you have that kind of cash why not accessorise with a 21” Globe-Trotter trolley case finished with an embossed leather luggage tag, Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m James Bond Limited Edition watch complete with a unique Aston Martin strap.

So to live like an international spy you better hurry, the Australian five are on sale now. As for the movie itself, well go and check it out. But as a dedicated Bond lover it left me feeling a little short-changed.
