Sydney will be the first city in the world to launch a new “Dine Out” option in the Uber Eats app, allowing you to choose to book an in-person dining experience at Sydney restaurants.
It’s a complete combination of the Uber rideshare and Uber Eats apps bringing together the best of both services, but encourages a renewed in-person dining environment at restaurants.

Powered by a partnership between Uber Eats and OpenTable in which OpenTable’s reservation system will power the bookings within the Uber Eats app.
Uber Eats Australia Managing Director Ed Kitchen says “It’s a thrill and privilege for Australia to be the first market anywhere in the world to test and finesse the new Dine Out product – one we know will benefit restaurants and bring additional convenience and value to Sydney-siders and visitors alike,”

“I am proud to be able to launch this technology for Australian small business owners in Sydney first, though as a proud Melburnian I’ve assured my friends and family that the plan is to launch in Victoria in the coming months.”
The new services launch in June, when hundreds of Sydney restaurants kick off the “Dine-Out” option with launch discounts to celebrate.

Launch restaurants include iconic names like Catalina, Fabbrica, Wings and Tins, Malabar, Employees only and Raw Bar.
