While Australia is generally fairly warm, we have a good range of cold and warm climate – and when you’re out in it, it can be uncomfortable. Sony have announced their newest gadget, the Reon Pocket Pro, a thermal device to keep you warm or cool.

The REON Pocket Pro straps to the back of your neck using adjustable arms, with a vent  taking in and directing air under your clothes and keeping you warm, or cool, depending on the weather.

The device is an evolution of a series of products first conceived in 2017, with the latest model, Reon Pocket Pro, adding in a longer battery life – up to 34 hours, or 15 hours running their SMART COOL mode which adjusts temperature to your activity. There are several more heating and cooling modes to choose from – all of which affect your battery life.

The unit itself includes on-device controls for warm/cool modes and levels, or you can use your smartphone with support for Android and iOS devices.

The unit itself is small enough to be unobtrusive, while sitting at the base of your neck. The new heat dissipation built-in allows Sony to retain the unit’s compact size – as well as keeping it quiet so you can run it anywhere you want.

This is peak Sony for me, it’s pure gadget goodness the likes of which Sony was king of in the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s with the likes of the Walkman, Discman, Clie PDAs and more. You can get your hands on the REON Pocket Pro from November for $299.
