Last week, I headed to the All Energy Expo in Melbourne to check out a new clean energy design platform from OSW Group, GreenSketch, and its AI-powered tools, GreenSketch AI.
The new interface, with streamlined workflows, offers solar installers easy access to all the tools they need to plan their customers’ fits, provide the best price for everyone involved, and easily order the required gear from manufacturers.
This simplifies the entire process of solar energy system design with GreenSketch now, according to Anson Zhang, Founder and CEO of OSW Group and GreenSketch, a “fully integrated business platform and the leading battery design platform” that enables solar businesses to work more efficiently and provide a better, faster process for their customers.
The new features introduced last week include:
- Emily, an AI-powered marketing agent to help installers capture homeowner leads
- Automated system to engage with homeowners without manual follow-up
- Ability to show homeowners their home’s solar potential
- AI Roof Detect detects and outlines the customer’s roof precisely
- 3D View allows the installer to show the customer the roof angles, nearby trees and other buildings and their shadows from every angle, at every time of day and every time of the year
- I saw this use of AI in person as it worked, and I was blown away by how fast, easy, and informative the function was for both the installer and the customer.
The new software also included Battery Wall Templates to show the customer how the side of their house will look after the battery has been installed. The templates can be edited by adding/removing doors, windows, and more, making them customised to the customer.

The GreenSketch AI software includes a one-click procurement and VPP income calculation so the installer can show the projected value after the battery is installed, strengthening the financial return case for customers.
At this stage, there is no customer-facing interface, but one or something similar will be added in the future most likely. Imagine being able to play around with the designs and other variables and then follow a single click to a list of preferred installers for the products you have chosen.

In the meantime, the consumer will have to rely on their installers using this to get the most effective design with interactive quotes I have ever seen. The platform is growing fast as it is free for installers so I doubt it will be difficult to find one.
I look forward to engaging with GreenSketch AI and one of their installers next time I build a house to ensure the best possible solar installation. As your installer if they are using GreenSketch AI?
