Basketball in the US is heating up in the lead-up to College Basketball’s March Madness and to celebrate and get you ready for the tournament, 2K has launched Season 5 of NBA 2K26 with the inclusion of upcoming NBA stars currently attending one of 16 iconic colleges.
Season 5 signals 2K’s extension into the collegiate arena with a hint that the collegiate experience will be expanded greatly come 2027:
“2K is building the definitive basketball universe, uniting the NBA, WNBA, and soon the collegiate ranks under one banner. Authentically representing the most elite levels of the sport is an ambitious undertaking and one that we will continue to scale over time, beginning with our foundational college experience next year”, said Zak Armitage, SVP and GM of 2K Sports.
“We can’t wait to share more details around the new college basketball experience available in early 2027, but today we’re excited for players to get a taste of the passion and competition of the collegiate level with a host of themed content in Season 5.”
Tertiary institutions featured in Season 5 of NBA 2K26 include UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, UNC, Baylor, Houston, Ohio State, and UConn, with both men’s and women’s programs included.
The programs will offer opportunities to earn premium content, including jerseys and signature court designs, as well as MyTEAM cards featuring current and former college stars.

The new Season 5 Pro Pass & Hall of Fame Pass unlock 40 additional levels of rewards incljuding automatic and premium rewards.
