You take the shot, but lag takes your kill. If you’re not getting those easy shots, and slow speeds are becoming frustrating on your network it may be time to update and TP-Link have a great new range of Wi-Fi 7 compatible gaming routers to check out.
The new Archer Gaming router series from TP-Link includes a full line-up of devices to suit every budget. Neville Wang, Managing Director at TP-Link Australia and New Zealand said of the new range
“Gaming is no longer just another use case in the home, it’s one of the most demanding. We’ve built this lineup to give every type of gamer, from the weekend player to the serious competitor, a router that actually prioritises their game.”
The series includes Wi-Fi 7 across the board, except their entry level GXE75 model, which still includes tri-band support and fast Wi-Fi 6e speeds, and ramps up to the Archer GE800 including dual 10GBps ports and four 2.5Gbps ports alongside tri-band connectivity and more.
While the GE800 has almost everything, the flagship of the range is the GE550, and makes for a more affordable, yet still advanced gaming router. The GE550 includes fast connection across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, with dual 5Gbps ports and three 2.5Gbps ports. It even includes a dedicated game panel showing real-time network status, performance, and connected gear – and it’s a gaming focused router, so of course there’s RGB!
Designed to run hot while you’re in extended gaming sessions, the GE550 includes an impressive thermal design that includes upper and lower heatsinks, and purpose built ventilation for improved airflow.
The entire range supports EasyMesh, meaning you can include it in your mixed network of EasyMesh routers and range extenders to easily expand your whole home Mesh WiFi network.
In terms of pricing, the new range looks like this:
- Archer GE800 (RRP: $1,099) – BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7. The flagship of the range for those who want maximum throughput across the entire home.
- Archer GE550 (RRP: $599) – BE9300 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7. The performance sweet spot combining tri-band speed, dual 5 Gbps wired connectivity, and full gaming feature set.
- Archer GE400 ($399) – BE6500 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7. The newest addition to the range, offering Wi-Fi 7 speeds in a dual-band configuration.
- Archer GE230 ($279) – BE3600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7. An accessible entry into Wi-Fi 7 gaming performance for smaller setups.
- Archer GXE75 ($249) – AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E. For those not yet ready to move to Wi-Fi 7, a capable tri-band option with dedicated gaming features.
