Dyson has announced yet another product you probably never expected from them – the HushJet™ Mini Cool fan. It’s a handheld fan that uses all their learnings over the years to make you and only you feel better on those hot days!

We don’t know when it will launch here, but it’s probably best kept to the latter part of the year anyway, and despite it’s likely $169 price tag you can expect it to be a hot item on the “gram” this summer.

Designed not just to be held in the hand while you’re enduring kids sport, you can also wear it around your neck, or – sit it on the desk at work or at home.

Dyson’s amazing brusless motor technology which started in their vacuums then went into room fans, and even hair dryers is what powers it all, spinning at 65,000 RPM!

There’s five airflow speeds, and boost for that little extra.

Dyson’s Chief Engineer Jake Dyson said “Since 2009, we’ve been obsessed with airflow. Mastering air projection, reducing turbulence, and refining thermal technology. The HushJet™ Mini Cool fan is the culmination of that journey: powerful airflow, engineered for life on the move by bringing elite cooling technology from every home to your hand.”

It’s just 38mm in diameter, Dyson say its the size of a watch face, but for fans of the brand it’s the same as the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer too and their amazing PenciVac vacuum.

In simple terms, they nailed this tiny motor and are making the most of it.

Pointing at you the air flows through a special nozzle which lowers frequencies of the airflow sound, eliminates whirring sounds and when you add to that the silence of the motor it’s not an annoying cooling experience – they say.

With it comes a “neck dock”, charging stand and cable, as well as a travel pouch and there will even be accessories for attaching it to things like prams or backpacks and jackets.

At $169, it better be good, because I can get a handheld fan on Amazon or Kogan pretty darn cheap.
