Buying a new TV is a big deal, it’s a huge part of your budget, and not something we do every year. Most people hang onto their TVs for more than 5 years, much more in some cases so you might not be familiar with all the different types and styles of TVs out there today.
We’ve done the hard work to help you narrow down your search for your next TV. With all the new 2026 TV’s from LG, Samsung and Hisense in one database, you can use the EFTM 2026 TV Search to find your next TV based on three simple factors. The price, the size and the TV technology.
You choose for each factor what’s important to you and we’ll show you the TVs that match your criteria and the links to buy or read more about that TV.
Importantly, EFTM does not earn any commission from ANY links on this page – we just want you to have the best information to get the right TV for you!
If you are a bit confused, or lost, don’t hesitate to reach out and ASK TREV here or send a text to 0477 657 657 to chat to Trevor Long about your TV questions on the EFTM podcast!

TV Buyers Guide – FAQ
How do I choose the best TV to buy?
Two people walking into a TV retailler looking for a new TV, each of them has a different way to choose their new TV.
For some people, it’s about price. You’ve got a budget, plain and simple, you can’t spend more than $1,500 if that’s what the bank balance says.
Others are interested in the size of the TV. Your old TV is 55 inches, so a big new 75 or 85 inch TV seems appealing.
Then there’s those with the eye for detail, looking for a certain TV technology to suit their viewing habits and the room the TV is going in.
The EFTM TV Buyers Guide allows you to choose between each of these criteria, one or all, the price, size or type of TV and narrow down the search between the hundreds of new TVs on the market to really compare prices
Are these real-time prices for the latest TVs?
We check regularly all the TV models at every retailer to obtain the most up to date prices possible.
We’re searching for TVs from Hisense, Samsung, LG, TCL and Sony across major Australian retailers like JB HiFi, Harvey Norman, Appliances Online and more.
Retailers change their prices often, some times in response to each other, so while we’re checking regularly, it’s always possible there’s a different price on the retailer site to that which we’re showing you here – always check before you buy!
What’s the difference between RGB and OLED?
OLED has long been heralded as the best TV picture available. An OLED screen has millions of pixels making up the picture you see, and each pixel lights itself up, there is no “backlight” – making the contrast between coloured areas of the screen and black areas perfect.
RGB is a new TV technology for 2026. It replaces what were white or blue backlights with tiny Red, Green and Blue lights – sometimes Mini LED sometimes smaller Micro LEDs.
Because the backlight which thines through the LCD panel is the colour of the intended picture, there’s a wider range of colour a more accurate colour, vastly more “colour” than any other TV technology – including OLED.
It’s still a balance between what you want as a viewer, the ultimate in contrast, or the best in colour range.
How do I find the best TV in Australia?
Well that’s subjective, some people would argue a huge screen is the best TV, so you’ll want to search for TVs by screen size here at the EFTM TV Buyers Guide. Others will think OLED can’t be matched, so will filter our TV Database by technology to show only OLED screens.
That’s entirely up to you!
Choosing the right TV for me
When choosing your new TV it’s important to stick to your own needs, don’t be too easily swayed by reviews that talk you up out of your budget, or for one TV technology to another.
That’s why we created the EFTM TV Buyers Guide – so you can narrow your search to find TVs that you’re interested in, within your budget, narrowed down to make the decision and research a whole lot easier.
Checking new TV price changes
We’re checking the retailers regularly to find the latest prices on new TVs in Australia. What we’re also doing is logging those prices over time.
Hover your mouse over the discount price tag on any TV and you’ll see a graph of the last two weeks of prices so you can see the fluctuations as well as know the highest and lowest prices that very TV has been sold for. This might just help you negotiate the best price on any given day.
Choosing a TV without reflections or glare from the windows and lights in the room.
Aussie homes are bright and sunny, big windows and a lovely afternoon sun shining through. It’s for this reason the move to dull those reflections is becoming a big choice for TV buyers.
We’ve listed the methods used by TV companies to combat this in our EFTM TV Buyers Guide. For some TVs there is a Glare Free coating – this dulls the shine, removes the mirror finish, and diffuses any light spots or areas.
An Anti-reflective coating is a different thing, which still shows the reflection, but cuts it down by a large amount making the picture far more viewable.
Well worth a look in store before you buy.
