Two new products are hitting Australian stores from Ring – the company most famous for their video doorbell.

While this is not the first product since the doorbell, it’s a simple addition for those looking for a security camera solution for their home too.

The Ring Floodlight and Ring Spotlight are a very stark warning to potential intruders, operating as a light and camera, but the Ring Stick-Up cam can be used indoors or out, sending motion notifications and recording motion detected to the cloud.

Jamie Siminoff, Founder of Ring, said: “We’re excited to continue expanding the Ring of Security in Australia with Ring’s first indoor/outdoor cameras. Ring Stick Up Cams give neighbours maximum flexibility to position the cameras anywhere, regardless of power availability, to secure every corner of their property. Every decision Ring makes is driven by our mission to reduce crime in neighbourhoods; it’s important to have multiple layers of home security, and the Stick Up Cam line offers affordable, easy-to-install security for both inside and outside of the home.”

There are two versions, a battery powered Stick Up cam and a Wired version.

The Wired version can receive power via MicroUSB or via Ethernet (PoE) and would likely be a touch more reliable than battery and certainly less maintenance on battery changing, though of course, there are Solar options too.

Users of the Alexa voice assistant can also look forward to greater voice integration in the next year after Amazon acquired Ring last year.
