Hi Trevor, I totally disagree with you about net neutrality. I completely support it and hope that we have some net neutrality laws soon.

You talk about the internet like a highway, but I think of it more like a highway and road system. The connections between the ISPs, and between ISPs and content providers, are like a system of roads, highways and freeways, while the connection between your home and your ISP is like the local road that links you to the rest of the road network of highways, freeways etc.

Charging content providers extra to deliver certain content to people in a quality manner would be like charging a delivery company extra just to drive that last bit road to your place in a reasonable time or else their deliveries would be delayed or not possible at all. It would even allow ISPs to discriminate against some content providers by making them pay a higher price for the same delivery quality, or not allow that quality at all. It shouldn’t happen. Users pay for the sending and receiving of content on the local bit of the internet, so content providers shouldn’t have to pay for it again.
