Kids can Learn, Exercise and Stay Safe on an Indoor Exercise bike

Today in Las Vegas we attended an event called Pepcom, while there we stumbled across what was initially a funny joke and became one of our favourite items from the show.

Introducing the Fisher-Price Think & Learn Smart Cycle – which in our plain terms is an exercise bike for your kids that also entertains/teaches them things.

Fisher-Price are a household name when it comes to toys and products for kids so it was no surprise that they understand their customers more than parents do. The goal here is to keep toddlers from 3-6 years old active mentally and physically. We, as a country especially, are becoming more and more sedentary, we put kids in front of the TV to keep them busy and this likely isn’t doing wonders for their development.

The Smart Cycle puts a play experience onto a tablet or on the TV, the kids are in control by using the handlebars, joystick or peddling. Four apps are immediately available to download with fun games that introduce a rich kindergarten readiness curriculum and the game progresses as the child pedals.

The content or games are synced with the bike, if you’re virtually riding a bike through a park and you stop pedalling then the bike on the screen stops too. The same applies for the handlebars, almost a safe way to train the kids to ride their bike!

All components of the bike are adjustable to suit different tablet sizes, different seat heights and handlebars.

As parents you can also monitor your kids activities on the bike, did they just sit there and not pedal at all? You’ll have the data to win the debate.

Fisher-Price have partnered with Nickelodeon to bring your kids favourite characters to the games, SpongeBob SquarePants will teach your kid science and social studies.

Upon release the Fisher-Price Think & Learn Smart Cycle will retail for $149.99 in the US, it will arrive by mid year and Australia will follow shortly after.
