Apple don’t muck around – so when they saw the success of Carpool Karaoke on YouTube off the back of airing on James Corden’s late night TV talk show they snapped it up and have created a whole series of shows under the banner which pair celebrities together for a bunch of fun.
But it won’t be on YouTube, or on TV, and it won’t be on Netflix or Stan either – Instead, Apple is introducing video content to Apple Music.
Launching on August 8, Carpool Karaoke will be available every Tuesday available for free to Apple Music subscribers.
Big name celebrities from music, movies and TV will have a crack at singing some tunes while also having a bunch of fun it seems.
Some of the names mentioned thus far include : Michael Strahan, Jeff Gordon, Will Smith, Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family; Shakira and Trevor Noah; Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams; Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith; John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson; LeBron James and more.
We’ll find out more next week at WWDC in San Jose how it will look because Apple Music will no doubt get an overhaul as part of iOS 11 also.
