Just weeks after launching in the United States and Canada the IKEA Place Augmented Reality app has launched in the Australian App Store.
Available to download now, the free app is one of the best examples of Augmented Reality available today.
Using the iPhone camera the app is able to scan your floor using Apple ARKit development code and make spatial assessments of the room.
You then choose furniture from the IKEA catalogue (not all items are available but it’s a wide range) and place it into your room.
What you place is accurate to 98% of the actual furniture size and you can place multiple items and walk around them.
I placed some extra seats on the verandah at Bathurst for people to enjoy. Sadly they are virtual.
It’s simple, it’s a revolution and is worth downloading just to see how amazing it is
App Store: search “IKEA Place”
