Polaroid: What’s Old is New Again

CES is one of those events where you really get to sense the scale of companies from the size of their stand. Polaroid had a stand that really surprised me. Both on scale and products on display.

Releasing the Polaroid Pop here at CES captured my attention because of its fun and colourful looks. It’s a fun, social camera capable of printing out quick 3.5×4.25” inch photos. The printer is completely ink free, instead relying on the colour within the paper to get the image. Remove the backing off the back and your photo becomes a sticker.

As a lot of us would remember, the original Polaroid camera took a photo and it was printed instantly. The Pop has this feature but with the added feature of an SD card, the photo can be saved and printed later.

Not only does it print photos that you take off the device but thanks to the bluetooth connection, you can edit and print photos from your smartphone as well.

The Pop has a 20 megapixel camera, capable of recording video in 1080p and just for an extra bit of fun, can also create GIF’s, perfect for social media. The app allows you to get really creative with your photos, adding a whole range of stickers, borders and text to give your photos that extra Pop.
