Hyundai i30 N Fastback to land down under

We loved the Hyundai i30 N back in late March after a thorough run around the Winton Motor Raceway, Victoria. The prospect of a potential Veloster variant landing here is still up in the air. But today word has come through that at least a second N model will arrive on our shores in 2019, the i30 N Fastback.

As you can see by the heavily camouflaged pictures prototype testing is well advanced in Europe. Hyundai has been giving the new body shape a hammering at the Nürburgring in Germany, where the company has a technical centre.

Along with a decent thrashing around the world famous track the car has been evaluated on public roads around the region. Durability and performance levels are being developed and will no doubt benefit from local tuning once Hyundai Australia gets its hands on one.

In Fastback guise the i30 N looks far more sophisticated than its more generic hatch sibling and will certainly get the pulse racing just as high. Power, technical details and pricing will be announced closer to launch. We look forward to having a crack.
