Alpine isn’t exactly a household name, but the French brand first produced the A110 from 1961 to 1977. In 2017 the A110 was reborn thanks to the Renault-Nissan partnership. Now after over 20 years has passed just 60 Australian’s will get the chance to sample the 2019 version. Luckily, we have one in the EFTM Garage for the next week.
Powered by a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine the A110 Premiere Edition pumps out 185kW / 320Nm. It’s rear-wheel drive and matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch 7-speed transmission.
The car earns some serious performance credentials thanks to weighing only 1,094kg. That makes the A110 capable of dispatching the 0-100km/h dash in just 4.5 seconds. The body is 96 per cent aluminium and rides on 18” Fuchs forged-aluminium alloys.
The interior is sparse and airy, with a basic multimedia system showcased via a 7’’ touchscreen that includes navigation. All this for comes at a price thanks to a $106,000 price tag.
We will let you know how this pearler goes in a week!
