Apple CarPlay is the best way for any iPhone owner to interact with their cars infotainment system.
It’s an interface you’re familiar with, Siri will read your messages, you can use Siri to navigate, set reminders and compose messages, plus many of your apps that involve streaming entertainment have CarPlay support.
However, in a modern car there’s also often going to be Wireless Charging. So why on earth should we be plugging our phone into a cable to connect Apple CarPlay?
Problem solved, BMW are offering CarPlay wireless. This uses a Bluetooth connection to initiate the process, just like pairing any phone and car.
After that, your car creates a direct WiFi connection to your phone and CarPlay is displayed fully wirelessly in your car.
It’s bloody magic. And it means you can then take advantage of the wireless charger in the car.
Simples!
