International Roaming is a struggle for many people, with years worth of horror stories about the excessive bills for using a phone overseas its little wonder.
Optus has today made changes to their $20 prepaid roaming offer making it all that more compelling as a grab and go or bolt-on option.
On any Optus valid “Epic Data” prepaid account, you can pay $20 and get 10GB of data to use over 14 days in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan as well as in the popular destinations of the US, UK and New Zealand.
With 14 days to use it, that’s plenty of data for the average holiday.
And, if you’re not using an Optus plan right now, it’s still a very compelling offer for basic roaming. Grab a $2 SIM card, charge it up on the $30 Epic Data Prepaid plan, add the $20 roaming deal and for $50 you’ve got an Aussie number, 10GB of data and you can do it all at the airport.
Not the best roaming offer going round, but for people not willing to switch telcos, or who want control of what they’re doing – it’s a simple travel plan that could be perfect.
