Having dominated the Bluetooth speaker market since the launch of the UE Boom speaker Ultimate Ears is back with the next evolution of their portable sound products.

The Hyperboom is designed to bring sound to an entire party.

it’s 3 times as loud as the UE Megaboom, has 6.5 times the bass so this thing isn’t going to let you down.

At $599 it’s the biggest and the most expensive in the UE range but it’s not your average “party speaker”.

Most of the larger form speakers on the market aimed at a Party vibe have one thing in common – lights! Sony, JBL, you name it – they light up the room and flash with the beat of the music.

The UE Hyperboom is very different. Its squared-off shape separates it from the rest of the UE range. At 7kg it’s not ultra-portable, but that’s not what it’s for – when you need to take it outside, there’s a handle on the back for you to carry it.

And if it rains while you’re partying – no drama, it’s IPX4 rated so get it inside but don’t submerge it.

Launching only in Black, if all goes well, expect one or two other colours before Christmas.

Via an app, you have adjustable EQ settings and while it’s not a 360-degree speaker, the 270 degree sound stage allows it to fill a room.

The UE Hyperboom hits stores in March at $599.
