Asus have announced their third generation Republic of Gaming (ROG) phone overnight, and their local team is advising the phone will hit Australia by the end of next month.
Asus describe the phone as ‘Built for gamers, by gamers’, and the specs and features back this claim up. The phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, and up to 512GB RAM, with options for up to 512GB of on-board storage.
It’s a gaming phone, so of course Asus has gone all out on the screen and the 6.95-inch AMOLED display can offer a 144Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response. Asus has gone with a FullHD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution for the ROG3 and it also comes with support for HDR10+ (high-dynamic range) content.

The phone also utilises Asus’ GameCool 3 cooling system which includes a 3D ‘Vapor Chamber’ and extrudes heat via the specially designed vents in the rear cover. Essentially the phone can handle the heat of your extended gaming sessions while keeping cool.
Asus have also refined their AirTrigger system, with the third generation now including a motion sensor in addition to the programmable ultrasonic touch sensors on the shoulders of the phone.
It all sounds pretty darn good, so if you’re in the market you’ll be able to get your hands on the Asus ROG 3 phone in Australia by the end of August in Black for $1,699.
