More Memory, Better graphics, faster hard drives, faster processors, an improved screen – plus a long list of changes have been announced to Apple’s 27 inch iMac.

Tom Boger from Apple says “Now more than ever, our customers are relying on the Mac. And many of them need the most powerful and capable iMac we’ve ever made,”

“With blazing performance, double the memory, SSDs across the line with quadruple the storage, an even more stunning Retina 5K display, a better camera, higher fidelity speakers, and studio-quality mics, the 27-inch iMac is loaded with new features at the same price. It’s the ultimate desktop, to work, create, and communicate.”

The updated iMac starts at $2,799 and goes up to $13,299 if you choose the outrageous specs of a 10-Core processor, 128GB of RAM, updated graphics, 8TB of storage and Gigabit Ethernet. Yep, an epic machine.

This iMac also brings to the Apple all-in-one a technology first seen on their Pro Display last year – Nano-Texture.

Quite simply, this is like the Nano or Quantum Dot technology in TVs, bringing enhanced brightness and viewing angles – basically a picture that pops.

There’s so much more, higher fidelity speakers, improved mics, and a 1080p camera – things that couldn’t come sooner for those working and Zooming from home.

Every single iMac 27 inch now comes with SSD – no more fusion drive.

Likewise, the iMac 21.5 inch gets SSDs as standard, but a Fusion drive is still an option on the smaller model.

The updated models are available to order today and should ship this week.
