When you’re shopping for a race-seat for your home gaming setup there’s plenty to choose from – but let me tell you the benchmark has been re-set with the new Aston Martin Racing Simulator the AMR-C01 this thing is a beast.

We assume Sebastian Vettel will have one at home ready for his 2021 Formula 1 seat, but you can have one too.

Aston Martin AMR-C01 Racing Simulator

The AMR-C01 is the first product to come from a partnership between Aston Martin and Curv Racing Simulators.

Built around a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque the seating position mirrors the Aston Martin Valkyrie and it’s all hand-assembled by Curv Racing Simulators – when you buy one, you’re booking an assembly slot – they aren’t just sitting around waiting to be shipped.

This isn’t for you to hook up to your Xbox or Playstation, this is an all-in-one system, with Assetto Corsa installed, a huge Samsung Curved monitor and a stunning racing wheel.

Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman said: “This was a challenge for the design team as, although the simulator isn’t a car, it is inspired by our racing cars. It needed to exude the same elegance, boasting the same dynamic lines and balance of proportions as any Aston Martin with a racing lineage. I can picture the AMR-C01 in the most beautiful of residences as a sculptural work of art in its own right.”

And Curv isn’t just a johnny come lately – the company is led by Aston Martin’s works driver Darren Turner who is a Sim specialist.

Turner said: “The AMR-C01 is all about the love of racing. We’ve created a home simulator with incredible immersion that offers users the opportunity to have a great time racing in the virtual world, from the comfort of their own home. Our goal was to create a simulator that provided as much enjoyment in virtual reality as real racing does. Racing cars is a lot of fun and it is great to see that with the growth of Esports racing, more people are now getting involved.

“We modelled the driving position on the Aston Martin Valkyrie so users of AMR-C01 can get the full hypercar experience. I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve, with design and engineering creating what I believe to be the most beautiful home simulator available.”

Now for the bad news. There will be just 150 of these built.

Oh, and the Aston Martin Racing Simulator AMR-C01 will cost over $100,000 – plus delivery, and taxes. So, yeah – I think I’ll grab this 2007 Vantage instead.
