Aussie F1 star Daniel Ricciardo has become an ambassador for Optus with the famous ‘yes’ branding to appear on the front of his helmet for the rest of season 2020.

Daniel is no stranger to big commercial deals, F1 is funded by them, and no stranger to Aussie deals either with CarSales being a previous sponsor on that same spot on the helmet.

The deal is a two-year partnership with Daniel set to “inspire optimism for Optus staff and customers as he brings a fresh and upbeat approach to a range of business and customer facing initiatives”

Optus’ Matt Williams said of the announcement “Daniel is a world-class, globally renowned go-getter who understands the importance of unrelenting high-performance, innovation through technology, testing and learning and communication and teamwork.”

“It’s his appreciation of precision, accountability and flawless execution that we will tap into to engage and energise our amazing people and customers.”

With what we can only imaging was his trademark grin Ricciardo said “I saw this as a terrific opportunity to partner with a company that shares my values and ideas and is also passionate about its customers and teams,”

“I’m definitely a Yes! man and am excited to work with Optus on a range of initiatives that motivate and inspire customers and crucially, staff.”

“Optus talks a lot about the speed of their network so I can’t wait to see just how fast their 5G network is.”

Sadly, he won’t get to until at least the new year, with the F1 season pushing right into our summer.

It’s all part of Optus bringing back that Yes brand, that for those not young enough to know was the very start of the company, when Telco choice first became available, you kinda had to “vote” yes to use the Optus service.

That YES will be on the helmet for the rest of this year, as well as his 2021 and 22 seasons with McLaren.
