Epson has today announced a new ‘immersive 4K TV viewing experience’, launching their Laser Projection TV in Australia.

The Laser Projection TV uses Epsons 4K PRO-UHD 3LCD technology, which pairs the EH-LS500B Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector with an Ultra High-Definition Ambient Light Rejecting Screen which comes in two sizes: 100-inch or 120-inch – or you can go screenless for a display up to 130-inches.

The Laser Projection TV can also be purchased on it’s own ($5,499) or in a bundle with either the 100-inch ($6,599) or 120-inch ($7,199) screen.

The EH-LS500B Laser Projection TV has a true ultra short throw distance of just half a metre. The 3LCD, 3-chip technology offering 3x brighter colours and deep blacks. The Laser Projeciton TV includes a dedicated full 10-bit HDR Processor, which uses 100% of the HDR source information to produce a more realistic and natural image.

The 4K HDR content will play back at a full 60Hz with two built in 10W
speakers included so you can get decent sound quality without additional speakers.

The laser technology provides up to 20,000 hours of virtually
maintenance free operation with the Laser Projection TV also covered by a 3-year warranty.

There’s both a remote with voice search capability and an Epson Smart Media Player included in the Laser Projection TV box so you can stream all your favourite channels. The Ultra Short Throw Projector market is getting a lot of interest this year. HiSense unveiling their TriChroma Laser TV at CES earlier this year, while Samsung unveiled ‘The Premiere’ last week.
