Samsung is setting out to crush the competition with a stunning lineup of mid-tier smartphones launching next month in Australia. The New Galaxy A Series incudes Samsung’s cheapest 5G phone and plenty of impressive features.
Coming in three colours, Black, Blue and Purple, the A Series features three models, and within them a total of six variants.
The entire Samsung Galaxy A Series range goes on sale from April 9 at Samsung and major retailers, as is customary, Samsung is also offering an incentive to buy, with a $319 set of Galaxy Buds Live going out to anyone who buys a Galaxy A Series phone between April 9 and April 23.
Both devices feature a quad camera rear system, the Standard Galaxy A32 has a 64MP main camera, compared to the 48MP on the 5G variant. On the standard the screen is a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the 5G has a 6.5inch HD+ display.
Both have 15W fast charging of the 5,000mAh battery, both have 128GB of storage while the 5G version has 2GB less ram with 4GB on board.
Amazingly, the $499 Galaxy A32 features an in-screen fingerprint reader too.
There are three Galaxy A52 devices.
Each features the Infiniti O Display, at 1080 x 2400 within a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED Screen.
On the 5G models though you’ll get an impressive 120Hz refresh rate which will impress many.
At $749, the value in this phone is excellent. While not 5G, it comes with 256GB Storage, 8GB Ram and a massive 6.7 inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate
The camera on the Galaxy A72 is flagship quality. 64MP with Autofocus and Optical Image Stabilisaion on the main camera. 12MP ultra-wide and a 3x Optical Zoom telephoto lens along with the 5MP Macro lens.
While the $749 pricetag doesn’t get you 5G, this phone will appeal to those with Galaxy S9 or S8 devices, which are blown out of the water by the features of the Galaxy A72.
Samsung is attempting to crush their opposition here. Their brand dominance gives them credibility and status with potential buyers.
JB HiFi lists 57 phones from 10 different brands between $400 and $800. Samsung will sell close to 50% of all those sold if their market trend continues.
Garry McGregor, Vice President – IT & Mobile, Samsung Electronics Australia told EFTM “Last year Samsung had its most successful year in sales for this category. The Galaxy A-Series was the most popular device of choice for people who purchased a mid-tier smartphone in Australia – this is by no means an accident.
“We have been very specific in how we have built out our portfolios and we know it is working.
“More Australians than ever before are using Samsung devices. They are waking up to the experiences that our smartphones have to offer.
“We want to shape the market around what our customers want and how they live. We’re not talking about gimmicks, this is innovation that is real and tangible that we are making more accessible. Hands down, there has never been a mid-tier device offering like this.
“We want to make a statement to Australians about how serious we are with A-Series.
“We know Australians are passionate about music and one of the main ways they access it is via their smartphone – either stored on the device or streaming. That is why we have bundled the entire new A Series range with our premium Galaxy Buds Live in one of the most compelling on-sale offers we’ve ever had.
“Samsung has invested so much in building its brand and the experience we provide people. People expect the best from us and we are committed to delivering a device of incredible quality and design at every aspect of our Galaxy portfolio.
“Samsung has come charging out of the gates this year – S21 changed the game for premium smartphones, we were a major broadcast partner for the Australian Open and this week we are announcing the best A Series devices we’ve ever produced.
“We have more major sponsorships and high impact activity locked in for the rest of the year that we know will have Aussies talking. You will have to be living under a rock to not hear about Samsung this year.”
