IKEA and Sonos have already partnered together to bring the world the bookshelf and the lamp speaker but now they are moving into the art world with the SYMFONISK picture frame WiFi speaker. More accurately it is actually the entire picture itself.

The SYMFONISK speaker combines IKEA’s home furnishing knowledge with Sonos’ expertise in creating high-quality sound experiences to produce great sound with a stately design. The picture frame artwork is designed to blend into your home decor and comes in both black and white versions with interchangeable fronts to offer a variety of looks.

“The space-saving picture frame speaker can hang on its own on the wall as an eye-catching art piece, be matched with other art on the wall, be placed on a shelf or on the floor, leaning against the wall. The interchangeable fronts make it easy to choose a style that suits your individual home”, says Stjepan Begic, product developer at IKEA of Sweden.

With an eye to future projects between the two companies Sara Moris, Principal Product Manager at Sonos said: “Sonos’ acoustic design means the picture frame speaker sounds amazing for such a compact shape, and the Sonos app means it is effortless to set up and effortless to use. This long-term collaboration continues to deliver exciting new ideas that will bring great listening experiences to homes across the globe – we look forward to delivering more unique products together in the future.”

The new SYMFONISK picture speaker can be used as the only sound source in the room or it can be connected with other SYMFONISK or Sonos products. Starting from July 2021 the SYMFONISK picture frame WiFi speaker will be available in IKEA stores and on IKEA.com in Europe and North America – other regions will follow later on.

The SYMFONISK picture frame WiFi speaker will land in Australia later this year so keep an eye out for it if you are looking for some art for your wall and want a speaker to go along with it.
