Earlier this year ZTE launched their new gaming smartphone with a variant for the Chinese market and one for the international market. Unfortunately, we have not seen it anywhere near Australiain any official capacity but we won’t have to wait too long according to the ZTE Australia website.
Coming in July of this year, the ZTE Red Magic 6 Pro will be sold exclusively through JB Hi-Fi and looks to be a beast of a phone. On the backs of some impressive gaming phones that have made it Downunder the Red Magic 6 Pro comes stacked with all the power needed to push the most resource hungry games to their limits.
Powered by a Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, the 6.8-inch FHD+ display supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz so give you the smoothest gaming performance possible. Once you have experienced these faster refresh rates in games then you’ll know what all the fuss is about — to be seen is to be believed. Inside there is a whopping 16GB of RAM combined with 256GB of onboard storage.
Gaming can heat up a phone quickly and as such the Red Magic 6 Pro comes with a “Turbo Fan” inside to allow heat transfer thanks to the 59 fan blades — the fan won’t break down anytime soon either with it tested to 30,000 hours! Other features include stereo speakers with 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support and a 5050mAh battery with support for 66W Neo Quick Charge.
The rear camera is often the last piece of hardware inserted into gaming phones but ZTE hope to impress with their triple rear camera setup (64MP wide angle, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro) and 8MP selfie camera.
At this stage pricing is unclear but expect it to be a very competitively priced device, as all ZTE phones are. Grab it next month at JB Hi-Fi. We hope to have a good look at it ourselves in the meantime so keep an eye out for our thoughts on it.
