The heritage of the old Toshiba laptop brand is shining through with the launch of the new Dynabook Portégé laptop range. The new X40L and X30W Portégé laptops bring the latest Intel 12th gen Core processors to the ultra-light laptop range.

Dynabook, formerly Toshiba, is now owned by Sharp, but it’s still the great designs you know and love. The new Dynabook launch brings two Portégé models, the Portégé X40L-K, a hyperlight 14” laptop and the Portégé X30W 2-in-1 Convertible.

The new Portégé models use the new Intel 12th Gen P-Series 28W processors, and include Windows 11. They also offer a 3-year standard warranty, a bonus with any new laptop.

Portégé X40L-K

The Portégé X40L-K is an Intel EVO certified laptop which comes with options for either Intel 12th Gen Core P-Series 28W Core i5 or i7 processors using Intel Iris Xe graphics and featuring Wifi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 ports. They can also be configured with up to 32GB of onboard LPDDR5 memory and come with M.2 SSD storage options.

The ultralight laptop uses a Dark Tech Blue magnesium alloy chassis, which weighs in at just 1.05Kg and is just 15.9mm thin, yet carries a MIL-Spec (MIL-STD-810H) rating for durability.

There’s a large 14”, 16:10 aspect ratio display with an 85% screen to lid ratio packed into the smaller form-factor laptop. The Eyesafe certified display filters out high energy visible (HEV) blue light while maintaining crisp and vivid colour performance to reduce eye strain.

Angela Walker, General Manager, Dynabook ANZ Pty. Limited, said of the new X40L-K

The all new Intel Evo based Portégé X40L-K is truly a masterpiece in every way you look at it and serves as an impressive demonstration of Dynabook’s nearly four decades of experience in engineering premium laptops for mobile professionals. It’s compact, powerful, durable, uniquely stylish and secure. While all impressive, none of these qualities sum up the magic of this laptop. You must hold it to truly appreciate the incredible engineering and craftsmanship that went into making it the lightest and most impressive 14” laptop in our history.”
