Microsoft have announced a new Surface Laptop Go 2 overnight, with the 2nd generation model now including 11th Gen Intel Core processors and more.
The laptop includes an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with Iris Xe Graphics and now uses SSD exclusively for storage with the 64GB eMMC model no longer available. Microsoft will be offering the Surface Laptop Go 2 with either 8GB RAM/128GB storage for $1,199 or bumping up to 256GB of on-board storage for $1,299 with both models available to pre-order from today.
The new Surface Laptop Go 2 still includes the vibrant 3:2, 12.4” PixelSense touch display from the first generation but adds an improved HD camera and dual Studio Mics for excellent audio/visual quality on video calls. There’s also a fingerprint sensor enabled power key for fast login with Windows Hello, and plenty of connectivity with USB-C & USB-A ports & a 3.5 mm headphone jack as well as the Surface Connect port.
As well as new processors, Microsoft has revamped the design now listing the C-Cover (Keyset and Trackpad), AB Cover (Display) and battery, and Surflink cable as replaceable, further extending the life of the laptop.
There’s also a new colour option available on the Surface Laptop Go 2, with Sage joining the existing Ice Blue, Sandstone and Platinum colour options. Microsoft says the new Sage colour is ‘Inspired by subtle nature tones, Sage carries green and gray notes with a hint of blue. In the natural light, you’ll notice the soft reflection of the premium aluminum material’.
If you’re looking to grab one you can pre-order from today, or it will be on-sale from the 7th of June at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Officeworks and the Microsoft Online Store.
