Motorola has focused on the low to mid-range of the smartphone market for a while now and today they have launched another entry-level smartphone into Australia. The new moto g62 5G will be available at multiple locations in Australia from today and will cost you just $399.
The moto g62 5G is the 12th generation moto g device and moto are looking to build on that experience with the moto g62 5G. It houses a big 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with a punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera — no more notch here. Accompanying the big display is dual Dolby Atmos stereo speakers to deliver high volume sound that is crisper with a wider range of sound than before.
Powering the 120Hz display is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset with 4GB of RAM and support for 5G — yes 5G is available at all levels of smartphones these days. This power will allow you to game at speeds not often seen in the entry level.
Often the camera lack in affordable smartphones but moto promises decent imaging with the moto g62 5G thanks to a triple rear camera setup which includes a 50MP main camera that uses Quad Pixel technology to provide brighter images in lower light situations. Joining the 50MP in the triple rear camera is an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera for that close up snapshot.
The moto g62 5G arrives with a 5,000mAh battery for all day use and supports 15W charging although there will only be a 10W charger included in the box.
Motorola state that the moto g62 5G will receive just a single Android version update (from 12 to 13) along with bimonthly security updates for two years. Also disappointingly, according to Motorola if you purchase the phone from a retailer rather than a carrier it will officially come with only a 12-month warranty compared with 24 months from a carrier.

The moto g62 5G is available at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Officeworks, Big W Online, Mobileciti and Lenovo Online from today and from August 1 at all three of Australia’s major telecommunications providers, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone.
