TCL Electronics have announced that they are launching their first TVs in Australia with Roku built-in.

From early November the new 4K UHD TVs will be available in 55- or 65-inch screen sizes featuring the Roku TV platform.

The Roku TV platform offers a customisable home screen letting you combine live TV and access to all your inputs with a range of popular streaming apps available through their Entertainment Hub, Services available at launch include Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Paramount+, and Prime Video, as well as local services Stan, 9Now, and 7plus with TCL promising there are more to come. The models launching in Australia will also support Freeview, giving consumers access to all their favourite channels..

Jason Carrick, TCL Australia general manager of sales, says “Consumers have been asking us for years to launch Roku in Australia, so we are very excited to announce this new partnership.

When considering purchasing a new TV, the operating system it ships with is just as important as its screen size, frame rate, and resolution. TCL Roku TV sets combine TCL’s sophisticated hardware with Roku’s intelligent software that brings compelling content sources together.

The 55RP630 and 65RP630 will sell in Australia for $699 and $899 respectively and support Dolby Vision + High Dynamic Range (HDR) for enhanced contrast and colour representation.

The TVs support Apple AirPlay for casting content to the display, as well as supporting the Roku smartphone app – available for Android and iOS – giving you access to search, a virtual remote control with a keyboard for faster typing, and even private listening.

You’ll be able to find the new Roku enabled range of TCL TVs at JB Hi-Fi from early November.
