More TCL 40 series phones announced at MWC offering more budget friendly 5G options

At Mobile World Congress, TCL expanded their range of TCL 40 series phones first announced at CES earlier this year, with the TCL 40 XE 5G,  TCL 40 X 5G, as well as more 4G options with the TCL 40 XL and TCL 406 powered by Android 13.

The  TCL 40 XE 5G and TCL 40 X 5G continue TCL’s mission of providing 5G for everyone says  Aaron Zhang, Chief Executive Officer at TCL Communication. The phones will utilise TCL’s new NXTURBO display tech which offers improved GPU performance by 30% whilst reducing power consumption by up to 17%.

The TCL 40XL and TCL 406 will both offer incredible value with 4G connectivity still a priority for a number of users and markets.

TCL 40 XE 5G

Offering power and affordability, the TCL 40 XE 5G is TCL’s most affordable 5G smartphone to date including a 6.56-inch NXTURBO display with 90Hz refresh rate for ultra smooth scrolling.

A triple AI camera array headlined by a 13MP sensor will be included on the rear with an 8MP selfie camera on the front.

An octa-core processor will power the phone, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on-board with a 5,000mAh battery offering all-day performance even when using 5G.

The phone will include options for face unlock or fingerprint sensor built-in to the power button on the side of the phone.

TCL 40 X 5G

Aimed at content creators, the TCL 40 X 5G will offer higher resolution 50MP triple AI camera as well as the same 6.56-inch resolution display and 5,000 mAh battery as the XE 5G, also offering all-day performance. The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor for lag free performance.

TCL 40 XL

A work-horse that won’t break the bank, the TCL 40 XL is a 4G focused phone with a 50MP AI Triple Camera including 2MP depth and macro cameras on the rear with an 8MP front camera.

The phone includes a large 6.75-inch NXTVISION display and promises lag-free performance thanks to the Mediatek Helio G37 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of on-board storage with a microSD card slot and a 5,000mAh battery will ensure all-day battery life.

TCL 406

Lastly, the TCL 406 is TCL’s most affordable Android 13 4G smartphone to date. With a 6.6-inch HD+ resolution NXTVISION display, the TCL 406 is powered by an octa-core Mediatek processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage with support for microSD expansion. The phone also includes a 5,000mAh battery for all-day use.

A dual-camera array will be on the rear with a 13MP main sensor and 2MP depth sensor on-board and a 5MP selfie camera is nestled in the display.
