While it might look the same and fit the same covers, the all-new Arlo Pro 5 2K launching in Australia represents a look forward for Arlo and Arlo customers with new battery saving technology and an all-new Arlo Secure app.

Most notably, in a world of rising prices and budget pressure, Arlo has released their newest camera with a lower price as the company looks to reset their entire range pricing to suit the 2023 market.

The new Arlo Pro 5 2K (Known overseas as the Pro 5S) will be available for $329 from today, a good $40 less than the Arlo Pro 4 when it launched two years ago.

Critically, there are some big advances in technology under the hood that offer a 30% greater battery life, as well as dual-band WiFi support which should mean faster video loading when viewing your camera.

In addition to the new WiFi and Battery capabilities, enabling the new Arlo Pro 5 in your existing system will also enable an app upgrade to the Arlo Secure app. It’s a new look, faster and more responsive design but critically it’s future ready.

Setup to allow for automations via Matter devices, as well as working hand in hand with the Arlo Security system.

Lot’s to take in, and after less than a week of use there’s no doubt I found the Arlo Pro 5 a touch faster to setup, and it’s certainly responsive in-app. A lot to learn and understand about the new-look app though!
