During the latest PlayStation Showcase earlier this morning, Sony has taken the wraps of new titles including highly anticipated in-game footage of the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game due later this year, but they’ve also unveiled a new portable companion for your PS5.
Called Project Q, the new portable device has an 8” display capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps with what appears to be half a PlayStation Dual-Sense controller on either end. In the announcement, Jim Ryan said the device has “all of the buttons and features of the DualSense wireless controller.” and Sony confirmed that Project Q will include adaptive triggers and haptic feedback as well.
The aim of Project Q isn’t to take your games on the road though, instead it will offer you the option to stream games from your PS5 to Project Q over Wifi at home.
Alongside the announcement of Project Q was the announcement of new wireless earbuds, which Sony advised will connect to your mobile phone as well.
No pricing or availability beyond ‘later this year’ has been announced for either Project Q or the new earbuds, so stay tuned for more information.
