Samsung has tonight unveiled the new Galaxy Watch6 and it comes in a classic version as well once again. This year the new Galaxy Watch6 aims to offer ways for users to improve their health and perform better in what is once again a sleek, sophisticated-looking watch.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series once again provides a focus on personalised sleep data to help users get not just more sleep but a better-quality sleep. This in-depth sleep analysis includes total sleep time, sleep cycle, awake time, plus physical and mental recovery. Sleep Messages will then provide users with detailed feedback of their sleep first thing in the morning.
Not only that but the Galaxy Watch6 included fitness features such as body composition with measurements such as skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, body water and body fat percentage. Not just basic steps and flights counted these days, we are a long way past that. All these measurements can provide an accurate snapshot of where a user is at on their fitness journey and help them adjust goals, diets and more with help from an upcoming partnership with Whisk.
Other fitness and health features include a new Personalised Heart Rate Zone, Track Run, Custom Workout and continuing on from last year, blood pressure, ECG monitoring, Fall Detection, and HR Alert.
The Galaxy Watch6 offers new designs with a 20 percent larger display, a higher resolution brighter display and easily swappable bands to change yours to suit your mood with one click. As you’d expect, with the larger display comes a bigger battery to add an extra eight hours of use allowing you to perform the sleep tracking without having to worry about it running out of power.
The camera controller has been upgraded this year to enable you to control your paired Galaxy Z Flip5 camera, not just being able to take a photo but also switch modes, angles and zooms.
Powered by Wear OS 4 and One UI 5 Watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series have a full IP68 rating down to 5ATM.
Availability
Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic are available for pre-order in Australia from July 26, with general availability starting August 18
Galaxy Watch6 comes in a modern and minimalist design, in 44mm in Graphite and Silver and in 40mm in Graphite and Gold.
The Galaxy Watch6 Classic is a more traditional, premium design, featuring the rotating bezel and is available in Black and Silver in 43mm and 47mm.
