In what feels reminiscent of an early 1990’s Winfield Triple Challenge at Eastern Creek, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend plays host to one hell of a racing weekend and there’s plenty of Aussies in action including the return to the USA of Shane Van Gisbergen and a first NASCAR outing for Brodie Kostecki.

But it’s not just them, they’ll be catching up with old mate Scott McLaughlin in the paddock as the IndyCars also star on the same weekend.

It’s the speedway’s owner Roger Penske’s wet dream – a weekend of racing with wall to wall action.

For Aussie race-fans though the weekend of action starts in the middle of the day on Saturday as Shane Van Gisbergen gets his first taste of oval racing action in the NASCAR Truck Series at the smaller Indianapolis Raceway Park – about 11km down the road from the actual Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Then on Sunday Morning 4am Sydney time, the IndyCars have their own Grand Prix on the road course at Indy (inside the Oval, using the straight and parts of the banked turns) with Scott McLaughlin, Scott Dixon and the rest of the Indy Stars battling it out.

Fast Forward to Monday Morning, the NASCAR race kicks off 4.30am our time, and while Shane Van Gisbergen and Brodie Kostecki are where the main focus will be, there’s also Jenson Button, Kamui Kobayashi and the rest of the NASCAR stars battling it out.

Should be an epic few days on the race-track!

You can watch the IndyCars on Stan Sport, the NASCARs on Fox Sports/Kayo, as is the Truck Series with Kayo announcing they will screen this at the last minute. but the Truck Series isn’t streaming anywhere, so we hope it pops up on the NASCAR YouTube channel.
