Aqara may be the leader in smart home technology, but it is still relatively unknown in Australia. They are now looking to expand on their already impressive range of smart home products available in Australia with four new products launched today.
All four new products support Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit and are available now from their online store along with JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, and Bing Lee.
“Our latest products offer an unparalleled level of versatility, catering to a wide range of applications and different types of homes. Whether you’re a tech-savvy enthusiast, a busy professional looking to streamline your daily routines or a creative seeking innovative ways to enhance your living space, our solutions are designed to seamlessly integrate and adapt to your lifestyle,” says Aqara’s Business Development Manager, Mark Berahmand.
The four new products are:
The Doorbell G4 with Chime features Aqara’s local AI-based facial recognition which allows users to assign names to specific faces and create unique automations based on that identity — yes, you can get it to tell you to hide and turn off all the lights as if no one is home if it recognises your mother-in-law.
The Doorbell G4 also includes on-demand video and two-way talk through the use of the Aqara app on your smartphone and includes both battery and hard-wired power options.
The Doorbell G4 package includes an indoor Wi-Fi chime with a volume of up to 95dB. The chime also houses the G4 storage microSD allowing for secure storage of any recorded videos without having to purchase any subscriptions.
The Smart Video Doorbell G4 with Chime is available now for RRP $239.99.
The U100 Smart Door Lock is a deadbolt smart lock that can be unlocked using the Apple Home App, an Apple Watch, or the in-built fingerprint reader capable of recognising up to 50 fingerprints. Not only that but you can generate periodic passwords (using the Aqara Hub) for the lock to grant permanent, recurring or one-time access to unlocking the deadbolt.
The lock is also compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa although there is little information regarding their operation of access, so we hope to get one to put through its paces to test that.
The U100 Smart Door Lock is available now for RRP $499.99.
Declared the Best Smart Home Device at CES 2023 by The Verge earlier this year, the Presence Sensor FP2 uses mmWave radar technology for human presence detection. With an ability to detect up to five target people simultaneously the sensor can respond automatically according to the position of different people.
Exposed as multiple sensors in HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home, the FP2 features fall detection and can notify someone/you if this occurs. With a built-in light sensor it allows lighting automation to be more flexible and easier to use. It can also be installed in wet environments thanks to its IPX5 rating.
The Presence Sensor FP2 is available now for $197.99.
The Door and Window sensor P2 is Aqara’s first Thread product that supports Matter natively giving it an ability to connect directly to Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Aqara Home. The sensor is used to determine if a window is open or not and can send alerts based on its status to your device.
The Door and Window Sensor P2 is available now for $59.
