CES 2024: Razer announces their next generation of gaming laptops, a USB-C dock, another chair and even a cushion with haptics

Razer has announced their 2024 Blade laptop lineup, a new gaming chair alongside a new haptic cushion for your chair at CES 2024 today.

Razer’s 2024 lineup of Blade gaming laptops include the Blade 14, Blade 16 and Blade 18, each offering “unparalleled performance” with new display technology and Razer styling.

The Razer 16 offers the world’s first OLED 240Hz 16-inch display to deliver amazing clarity and depth of colour with “more graphics power per cubic inch than any other gaming laptop on the market.” The QHD+ display offers a 0.2ms response time with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The laptop incorporates an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor and up to GeForce RTX 4090 graphics to deliver unparalleled performance in an aluminium body. With power like that it needs effective cooling and thus includes Razer’s vapour chamber technology to help deliver optimal performance.

The Blade 16 is available now for AU$5,699.

The Blade 14 is the most portable gaming laptop that Razer makes with the new AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor and up to RTX 4070 Laptop Graphics onboard. It includes a QHD+ 240Hz display to deliver amazing visuals alongside great performance. Preorder now from RazerStores and authorised retailers now with pricing yet to be confirmed.

The Blade 18 will be arriving Downunder later this year and will sport a 4K 165Hz 18-inch display with Thunderbolt 5 ports to offer amazing performance and versatility. More details will be revealed closer to its launch date later this year.

Razer USB-C Dock

The Razer USB-C Dock is a portable, 11-port USB-C dock which is compatible with Windows and Mac laptops and desktops. Ports include 4 x USB-A, 2 x USB-C, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio combo jack and UHS-I SD/MicroSD card slots. The HDMI port offers 4K 60Hz support for extended monitor support.

The dock supports 85W laptop charging and is lightweight and can be taken anywhere with you. It is available now for AU$219.00.

Razer Iskur V2 Gaming Chair

The Razer Iskur V2 offers a unique 6D Adjustable and Adaptive Lumbar Support System which results in both adaptability and adjustability, meticulously designed to conform to the natural curve of your spine. You can easily customise it to your body and how it sits best to provide the best ergonomics for you for added comfort in a long gaming session.

Razer Aether Monitor Light Bar

Razer announced another RGB light, this time one that features both front and rear facing LEDs and sits on top of your monitor. The Razer Aether Monitor Light Bar includes ultra-high Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of 95 and offers 500 lux brightness.

Mounted on top of your monitor securely it throws RGB light to the wall behind, includes capacitive touch controls and is designed to work with all other smart home devices and controllers supported by Matter. The Razer Aether Monitor Light Bar joins the rest of the Razer Gamer Room line unveiled at RazerCon 2023, which includes the Aether Lamp Pro, Aether Lamp, Aether Light Bulb, Aether Light Strip, and Aether Light Strip Extender.

The Razer Aether Monitor Light Bar will be available in March for AU$243.95.

Razer Sensa HD Haptics with Project Esther — a gaming cushion with haptics

Project Esther is the world’s first HD Haptics Gaming Cushion and delivers complex tactile sensations for an even more immersive experience. The haptic actuators give the user a sense of in-game direction, distance and location. It is able to be fitted to most gaming and office chairs.

Game developers have full control over the haptics to design the haptics to suit the stages of gameplay. Although it is not a commercial product just yet there is little doubt it will be before too long.
