Fifty years of legend culminating in an all-electric show car to rival almost all others is heading to the world’s best race-track – Mount Panorama during the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour in just a few weeks time – the Ford SuperVan!

This is version 4.2 of the SuperVan, originally created back in 1971 it’s had many iterations and rebirths, but the modern SuperVan is a showcase of Ford’s E-Transit and of course the modern full-electric powertrain which is slowly becoming a big part of the current and future motoring landscape.

The van will be driven by Romain Dumas in a series of public demonstrations around the iconic 6.213km circuit.

And of course, it will be on display for race-goers to see too.

Despite being a journey of 50 years worth of Van based demonstrations, this is the first time a Ford SuperVan has been on Aussie soil.

The Van will also stick around at the Mountain for the Supercars weekend right after the 12 hour.

“SuperVan 4.2 will take on the challenge of Mount Panorama in the same configuration it raced in at Pikes Peak – as the ultimate expression of what is possible with electric performance and Ford’s EV technology,” said Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports.

Mount Panorama stands tall as the ultimate motorsport challenge in Australia, and we are excited to see SuperVan 4.2 attack its legendary twists and turns.”

The specs are impressive. 1400 horsepower delivered to all four wheels, this is a vehicle that took on Pikes Peak and finished second outright, and first in class.

Another cracking drawcard alongside the spectacular mountain, and the on-trace racing action.
